AUC Workshop Scholarship — Python Cocoa

cliftons

The python cocoa workshop provided by Apple University Consortium was located at Clifton’s Training Centre in Sydney. During my two day workshop, we had structured lessons which enabled us to learn python and cocoa’s abilities. The lessons started with basic command line excercises followed by an address book project. This project consisted of coding *.py files and utilising MAC’s interface builder to build the GUI for the application. On the second day, we learnt and experimented with several advanced libraries one of which could interface with a machine’s bluetooth hardware device.

Overall, this was a new experience for me as i was unfamiliar with application development on MAC. This workshop enabled me to be exposed to new technologies, and realise how Apple’s cocoa and objective-c languages can be utilised with python.

As i write this blog, i am excited to hear about another workshop opportunity to do with Apple’s X-Grid. I shall hope to be accepted to this workshop as i had enjoyed this first workshop on python and cocoa.
