About This 2 Minute Flick: The floor was created during the first half of the semester. Martin Tung formulated the storyline in which we built upon it to produce what is seen above. Marcus with his forte and previous experience in scripting formulated and built upon the storyline script while Martin created the sketches and documentation of the storyboard. With one of my majors being sound production, I created the sound design for this video using Digidesign Protools LE and FL Studio. Since this was a digital video production course where everyone was learning this new knowledge, we all took turns in providing input and in using Final Cut Pro and the DSR-PD170 camera.
The storyline of this flick consists of “the woman” being subjected to mysterious adversities such as the elevator not working and the changing of the floor level signs. The feel of this video produces humour when it is seen that the floor level signs are just printed paper ones. The end however, produces a rather dramatic feel during the POV (point of view) shots of the woman being attacked. This sudden change was meant to surprise the audience by introducing a humourous feel at the start followed by a dramatic finish.
